Standard Operating Procedure for producing a single podcast episode from concept to published. Duplicate this page for each new episode.

Episode Details

Phase 1: Pre-Production

• [ ] Episode concept defined - Clear topic, angle, and value proposition for the listener
• [ ] Research completed - Background reading, stats, quotes, and reference material gathered
• [ ] Outline/script written - Structured talking points, questions, or full script ready
• [ ] Guest confirmed (if applicable) - Date, time, and platform agreed upon
• [ ] Guest prep packet sent (if applicable)
  • [ ] Talking points / question list shared
  • [ ] Technical requirements communicated (mic, quiet room, platform link)
  • [ ] Bio and headshot requested
  • [ ] Release form sent
• [ ] Pre-interview call done (if applicable) - 15-min rapport builder and logistics check
• [ ] Recording session scheduled on calendar with buffer time
• [ ] Equipment tested - Mic levels, recording software, backup recording method
• [ ] Sponsor ad script prepared (if applicable)

Phase 2: Recording

• [ ] Environment prepared - Quiet room, “Recording” sign on door, phone silenced
• [ ] Equipment check - Mic, headphones, pop filter, recording software launched
